i have many things lurking around the mud pile that is my brain. this is a piece of that. they are things that cut me. i make them softer so you all can see.

i cant help the feeling of ripping sometimes. or maybe its melting. whatever the case this one is borrowed from another girls heart but with my hand.

dedicated to a love of many years. about osmosis and other convergences. i have absorbed so much and yet there is much more.

nooooooooooo more tears. please. about time to leave this one behind and forget superstitions.

self portrait.

yesterday in the square there was a boy i offered a banana. he said he had no space for that but money was his search after. i mentally broke him into lines and dots. i wish i hadn't done so. he didn't do me any harm.

there are more to come i'm sure. my stupor has yet to fade.

just added an etsy thinger to the side. trying to get rid of paintings and stacks of bound notebooks lying around. i guess ill call it summer cleaning.

this piece is from my figure drawing class a couple of semesters ago. it was awkward. me and the model had similar haircuts. i couldn't help but see my self, even if our body types are nothing alike. so i decided to steal her gaze.

Another series of faces but these ones are an old set from my first

year of art school.

Based on three ladies i was rather close to, and still am in some cases.

I asked each girl for a self portrait, favorite color scheme, and what

their power animal is.

These are the results. (I drew them using colored pencil and pastels.)

i have been buisy for a while but new stuff is on its way. below are some of my more recent and/or favorites.

Control

a linoleum print combined with letterpress. this is mostly about human existence and design. I did this in my second year letterpress class.

the benign lie

gouache and graphite. this painting was my conclusive extension of extension of another series called familiar tragedies. all are inspired by your tales and my own. this particular one is about deceipt and the inevitable consumption of our beings as a result of vanity. i know... super uplifting.

still life

this is where it all started, in my first year of art school. i only really knew about lines and more lines. when im not drawing people im drawing shoes.

more to come. im in the process of moving and catching up on side projects.

So i have an idea. The idea is to try and ask random strangers (using craigslist maybe) to sit for me so i can draw portraits of them. Um maybe it will work. Or maybe i will have to resort to myspace for source material.

Portraits and other things

Yay! More new Art. Well kind of. A lot of these are from last fall semester 07, but that doesnt mean its not recent right? Anyways on to the art..... Ive been working with a lot of oils lately with acrylic underbases. Most of time its people im painting but ocassionaly there is the still life.

This is my brother. This was another one of those 27 paintings in 3 weeks. what a doosey! i think its on a 24 by 30 something canvas...but dont quote me on that. source material was a photo i took a couple of years ago of my brother. he kind of refuses to smile.

this isnt a great image capture of this particular painting but what the hey at least its up. this was a self portrait done in oil last fall. I had longish hair then. Everyone says i look like i have pecks. :)

above is another 1 of 27 paintings. the source material was from some guys flikr page but in different colors. oils as well.

teapot! oil pants on a smallish canvas. i enjoy the colors in this one.

and finally a drawing of some old dudes hands. they were more wrinkly in real life. pencil on strathmore.
