So i have an idea. The idea is to try and ask random strangers (using craigslist maybe) to sit for me so i can draw portraits of them. Um maybe it will work. Or maybe i will have to resort to myspace for source material.
Below is an example of the later.

Portraits and other things

Yay! More new Art. Well kind of. A lot of these are from last fall semester 07, but that doesnt mean its not recent right? Anyways on to the art..... Ive been working with a lot of oils lately with acrylic underbases. Most of time its people im painting but ocassionaly there is the still life.




This is my brother. This was another one of those 27 paintings in 3 weeks. what a doosey! i think its on a 24 by 30 something canvas...but dont quote me on that. source material was a photo i took a couple of years ago of my brother. he kind of refuses to smile.


this isnt a great image capture of this particular painting but what the hey at least its up. this was a self portrait done in oil last fall. I had longish hair then. Everyone says i look like i have pecks. :)



above is another 1 of 27 paintings. the source material was from some guys flikr page but in different colors. oils as well.



teapot! oil pants on a smallish canvas. i enjoy the colors in this one.



and finally a drawing of some old dudes hands. they were more wrinkly in real life. pencil on strathmore.
